Root reinforcement: Clinical case report

Abstract


To restore a tooth that presents a great loss of structure of the root dentin is possible since that been considered the root reinforcement. Solutions to this problem has been a challenge to the dental professionals for years. The authors showed beyond a case-relate that the root reinforcement is a viable procedure and efficient to preserve the dental element that would be extracted, impossible to be rehabilitated for the root fragility. The present case shows this root situation in the teeth 21, where was been made the reinforcement technique. Materials such: phototransmissor luminex post, dentin-bonding agent single bond, and resin dual relyx, was been utilized, then was been made a cast metal post and a metaloceramic unitary prosthesis. The resistance of the dentin-bonding agents, the physical proprieties of the composite resin seems to the dentin structures proprieties and the use of the phototransmissor posts can, together with praised technique provides the desire result.
