Orthodontic movement with mini-implants: Case report
Abstract
The use of implants as orthodontic anchorage has became an important alternative when treating adult patients with unfavorable tooth position or partially edentulous area when the conventional anchorage would produce limitations in the treatment. The purpose of this paper is to describe a case report of a adult female, with skeletal Class II, an upper dental midline deviation to the left, with fixed bridge from 23 to 26 and the absence of the 14 and the 15. For the current treatment a mini screw was used as absolute anchorage and a niquel titanium closed coil for distalizing mechanics. The objective of this article is to show the importance of mini screws for anchorage associated with fixed appliances.
