A vocação matemática como reconhecimento acadêmico/ Mathematics vocation as academic recognition

Resumo

Este artigo estuda a vocação matemática na esfera positiva. Analiso as formas de julgamentoda competência e da conduta, cuja justifi cativa está baseada num saber-fazer: a Matemática,particularmente o Cálculo. Para a execução do julgamento, faz-se necessário uma rotina fundamentadana norma (o exame), que estabelece a forma de veridicção (verifi cação) da competênciae da conduta. Esta rotina pressupõe uma banca examinadora ou julgadora que tem como propósitoproduzir o parecer (conclusão legítima acerca do candidato). Se o parecer for validado, então seráconstituído prestígio (valor-signo), reconhecimento, vocação. O vocacionado ganha existência pormeio daqueles que estão em na condição de permitir-lhe a entrada na ordem do discurso.

This paper studies mathematical vocation in the positive sphere. I analyze the judgmentprocedures of competence, their justifi cation is based on knowing–doing of mathematics, and inparticular Calculus. During the procedures of judgment (the exam) some routines occur, basedon the principle which establishes the form of veridiction (verifi cation) of her/his competenceand conduct. All these procedures are put forward by an examining or judging committee, whichproduces some authorised opinion. When this authorised opinion is propitious to a candidate,it will constitute prestige (sign value), recognition, vocation. This leaves open questions for thevocation of one person according to the committee, which is in position to allow her/his entry intothe order of discourse.
