Uma Experiência com Modelagem Matemática para a Abordagem de Conceitos de Física / An Experience with Mathematical Modelling for the Approach of Concepts of Physics

Resumo

A Modelagem Matemática, enquanto estratégia educacional, tem como característica a análisede situações-problema com ênfase na construção de modelos matemáticos e vem sendo utilizadacom bons resultados na aprendizagem em Matemática. Considerando que a aprendizagem em Físicarequer, em grande parte, a movimentação de modelos matemáticos, é interessante indagar: o ensinode Física pode ser mediado pela Modelagem Matemática? Para investigar essa questão, optamos poruma pesquisa qualitativa com 20 estudantes de um curso de Matemática da Universidade Federaldo Oeste do Pará (Ufopa), na cidade de Santarém-PA, durante a disciplina Física Fundamental I.Concluímos que foi possível abordar conceitos de Física por meio de atividades de ModelagemMatemática, no entanto, houve a necessidade de complementações nas atividades de ensino paraque a compreensão dos alunos em relação aos conceitos pudesse se manifestar.

The Mathematical Modelling while educational strategy has as characteristic the analysisof situation-problem with emphasis in the construction of mathematical models and it has beenused with good results in the learning in Mathematics. Considering that the learning in Physicsrequests, largely, the movement of mathematical models is interesting to investigate: Is it possibleto teach Physics mediated by the Mathematical Modelling? To investigate that question we optedfor qualitative research with 20 students of course of Mathematics of the Federal University of theWest of Pará (Ufopa), in the city of Santarém-PA, during the discipline Fundamental Physical I. Weconcluded that was possible to approach concepts of Physics through the Mathematical Modelling,however, there was the need of complementations in the teaching activities so that the students’understanding in relation to the concepts could show.
