Estrutura populacional e dinâmica de três subpopulações de Heliconius erato phyllis (Lep.: Nymph.) no sul do Brasil / Population structure and dynamics of three subpopulations of Heliconius erato phyllis (Lep.: Nymph.) in South Brazil

Resumo

Utilizando o método de captura-recaptura, são apresentados aspectos da biologia populacionalda borboleta Heliconius erato phyllis, em uma mata de crescimento secundário no Rio Grande do Sul,Brasil. A área original foi dividida em cinco sub-áreas, e as taxas de migrações indicaram a ocorrência detrês sub-populações. Estimativas do tamanho populacional foram calculadas pelos métodos de Jolly eManly-Parr. Uma característica fenotípica, o número de pontos vermelhos sob a barra amarela das asasposteriores também foi analisada.

Using the capture-recapture method, we had studied some aspects of the populational biology ofthe butterfly Heliconius erato phyllis, in a second growth area in Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. The originalarea was divided in five sub-areas, and the migration rates indicated the occurrence of three sub-populations.Estimates of the population size were calculated by the methods of Jolly and Manly-Parr. A phenotypiccharacteristic, the number of red raylets below the hindwings yellow bar was also analyzed.
