A tênue linha que divide o urbano e o ambiente natural: os animais invasores/invadidos / The fine line between urban and natural environment: the invaders/invaded animals

Resumo

A crescente urbanização ocorrida nos últimos anos e o incremento do desenvolvimento em muitasregiões do Brasil promoveram a diminuição das fronteiras entre a área urbana e o ambiente natural,fazendo com que alguns animais encontrados na interface entre estas áreas sejam caracterizados oracomo invasores, ora como invadidos em seu hábitat. Em face disto, o objetivo deste texto é analisar ascomplexas representações destes seres através do exame de matérias jornalísticas veiculadas na mídiaimpressa entre 2001 e 2002 visando a fornecer subsídios para programas de Educação Ambiental.

The increasing urbanization during the last years, together with the growth of development inmany regions in Brazil, caused the decrease of frontiers between urban and natural environments. Asa result, some animals living on borderline areas are characterized, sometimes as intruders, othertimes as victims of invasion in their habitats. The purpose of this paper is, therefore, to analyze thecomplex representations of these beings through the examination of newspaper texts printed between2001 and 2002 aiming to furnish subsidies for Ambiental Education’s programs.
